It occurred to me one summer, that my mother could never see over the fence and I suddenly reconciled why I grew up so much more frustrated with that neighbourhood than she did. This was more or less my realisation that our perspective, physical or otherwise is but one of some ineffable number. Many of my deeply held resentments immediately vanished.
Our differences in physical perspective slightly alters the context of what we see throughout our lives and in turn, may influence how we perceive and feel towards an Artwork. Because of this, I’ve always liked to play with perspective in such a way that it could conjure the closest approximation to what I’m wishing to evoke.
